MARRYING FASHION & TECHNOLOGY

CLIENT: Kate Christensen

ROLE: Creative direction

YEAR: 2017

WHERE: Pull

When fashion and technology say "I do," the goal isn’t compromise—it’s harmony. While at Pull, one of my mentees from UCLA approached me with an idea: a smart stress bracelet. But we didn’t want it to look like “tech on your wrist.” We took a different approach—less tech, more fashion.

We explored interplays of light and shadow, combining contrasting materials and colors to create a subtle, stylish design. Interaction with the bracelet was meant to be discreet, almost imperceptible, blending seamlessly into everyday wear. It wasn’t about flashing lights or overt notifications—it was about elegance, subtlety, and calm.

It wasn’t just about merging fashion and technology—it was about making them feel like they belonged together. With design contributors Ju Chia Lee and Kate Christensen, we created something that didn’t scream “tech”—it whispered it. Design contributors: Ju Chia Lee, Kate Christensen
